IRC - The Choice of a Cyber Generation!

How it all started
Late September in the year 1992 I got my first look at IRC. At that time I did not know that it was going to be the worst vice in the years to come....
The first encounter was watching a classmate IRC'ing.. I really didn't think much of it then, seemed quite boring actually....
First time I tried it myself I stayed on for about 5 minutes. Now this crap really sucks..
Then about 3 weeks later I sat at lab in school and everything was really really boring. So I figured I'd get this IRC thing a second try.. I shouldn't have done that... I got of 11 hours later... I had talked with a girl(at least she(?) said she was a girl), and had my first encounter with netsex.. Really lame I must say...
From then I was on IRC at least 3 hours a day, and that was NOT good for the studies... But I managed through the year.
I got to "know" a whole lot of people during that time, some good persons and some not so good. Especially I got to know a girl here in Sweden using the nick Abbs. Yes, she really was a girl. I went to see her in Gävle, where she lived then, over a weekend in the beginning of December 1992.
When I got home after that weekend we didn't see each other on the net for a few weeks. I guess we both had things to do, and things to think about.. I know I had a lot to think about at least. She was really a lovely girl, goodlooking, nice. I just couldn't help falling in love with her.. She didn't get to know anything until a few weeks later when I wrote her an e-mail. Unfortunately she'd just found herself a boyfriend.... *sigh* Isn't life a bitch?
